Moodboard
Observations and Research
I focused on identifying strong emotions of joy—creativity, connection, happiness, thrill, and wonder—to guide my project. While reflecting on a mood board, I realized that while tech decks addressed the absence of skateboarding, there was no comparable solution for missing surfing. This insight inspired me to develop a product that allows users to experience surfing remotely through a tabletop or fingerboard solution.
Sketches
After sketching, I realized that the best solution was to create a tabletop object that allows users to interact with flowing water through sight, sound, and touch. I rendered a 3D model using Rhino 8 and conceptualized how my object of joy would look, taking materials, environment, and size into account.
