01. Barrel Side TableProject Brief
Create a table using any materials and tools found in a woodshop.
I wanted to make the unseen, seen. While mood boarding, I considered old wooden ships and pirates, eventually focusing on barrels. My goal was to showcase the intricate details inside ordinary items.
My biggest challenges during this project included understanding joinery, following the natural wood grain, working with metal, researching the different types of screws (such as flatheads and rounded heads), utilizing veneer, and determining the best finish (oil vs. water-based).
